Smoke conditions vary in Lassen County due to the wildfires, with some populated areas in Lassen County experiencing unhealthy to potentially hazardous smoke today and tonight.
According to the Monday smoke outlook for the Dixie Fire, there is not enough air movement expected to bring significant relief from smoke to the Eastern Sierra today. Mountain communities East of the Sierra crest should expect very unhealthy air quality. This is definitely the case for those locations closest to the fire- Quincy, Lake Almanor area, and the Highway 395 corridor from Susanville to Doyle.
Health and Safety Remember that when smoke reaches Very Unhealthy levels, everyone should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion. Drive with headlights on in reduced visibility conditions. If you have air conditioning, keep windows and doors closed as much as possible.
