Snowstorm, road conditions move some districts to distance learning, no school

For the second day, wintry weather and road conditions have moved many districts to distance learning Thursday, Jan. 28.

Susanville School District

McKinley, Meadow View and Diamond View all switched to distance learning today.

Johnstonville Elementary

Johnstonville School is switching to distance learning today. Teachers will be in contact with students regarding today’s instruction. Meals will be available for pickup, call the school before 9 a.m. to order.

Janesville School

“Due to heavy snow, school will be closed today, Thursday, Jan. 28, for staff and any learning activities. No meal deliveries today,” read the Janesville School PTO post.

Shaffer Elementary

Moves to distance learning today. Email to request a meal.

Westwood Jr./Sr/ High School and Fletcher Walker

School campus will be closed for all students and distance learning will continue. Lunch will be available for pick up only. Call 256-3295 before 9 a.m. to reserve a meal.

Lassen High School

LHS moves to distance learning with the current bell schedule. Those without internet should call the school.

Credence and Community Day School

Moves to distance learning. Students should login to class or complete the provided packet.

Richmond Elementary

Richmond remains open and the parking lot and pathways are cleared. “Please take your time and be safe getting to school this morning.”

Lassen Community College

LCC Campus is closed again today. “Please remain patients and do not log on to your Canvas, portal or college email accounts. We will continue to keep you updated.”
