SPD cites two for furnishing alcohol to minors

According to a statement from the Susanville Police Department, two people were cited on Thursday April 28, for furnishing alcohol to minors in an operation conducted in the general vicinity of the city of Susanville

The SPD conducted the program — called a Decoy Shoulder Tap Operation — which targets adults who purchase alcohol for people younger than 21 years of age. Under the program, a minor under the direct supervision of a peace officer will stand outside a business and ask patrons to buy them alcohol. The minor indicates in some way he or she is underage and cannot purchase the alcohol.

The SPD said it would like to thank the 23 other citizens who were contacted during this operation who did not purchase alcohol for the decoys. The SPD also would like to thank the decoys in this operation who volunteered their time and the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

This operation was made possible by a grant from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
