On Thursday, Jan. 27, the Susanville Police Department cited two people for furnishing alcoholic beverages to minors.
The SPD and the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control conducted a Minor Decoy Operation in the general vicinity of the city of Susanville and visited 16 businesses.
Those who sold to the minor face a minimum fine of $250 and/or 24 to 32 hours of community service for the first violation. In addition, the ABC will take administrative action against the alcoholic beverage license of the business that may include a fine a suspension of the license or the permanent revocation of the license.
The SPD statement did not identify the two violators or the 14 businesses that did not furnish alcohol to minors.
According to the statement, the SPD thanks the decoys who volunteered their time and the ABC.
