Sunrise Rotary hosts 16th annual Beer and Wine Tasting

Susanville’s Sunrise Rotary Club hosts the 16th annual Beer and Wine Tasting at Jensen Hall at the Lassen County Fairgrounds from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.

The annual event is the Sunrise Rotary Club’s primary fundraiser of the year, and proceeds benefit the club’s scholarships and many local projects such as the Roop’s Fort restoration and the improvements at the Peter Lassen monument.

Gary Felt, a Sunrise Rotarian, said the event originally featured only wine tasting, but it’s been expanded to include beer for those who prefer that beverage.

Felt said the wine for the event has been donated by Susanville Supermarket IGA and Grocery Outlet. He said the beer has been donated by Lassen Ale Works, and an advertisement for the event also names Waganupa Brewing as a sponsor.

Attendees will receive a commemorative glass, and the event also includes delicious appetizers.
In addition, there will be a silent auction (including a kegerator and an 11-foot tall chain saw carved bear and eagle which will be delivered within an hour’s drive of Susanville) as well as great raffle prizes.

Tickets are available at Margie’s Book Nook, the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce and from any Susanville Sunrise Rotary member. For more information, call Tonya Peddicord at 310-1840.
