Supes designate remainder of discretionary funds as fiscal year ends

With the end of the fiscal year, the members on the Lassen County Board of Supervisors made sure to designate the remainder of their discretionary funds towards various programs and organizations.

The board unanimously approved the designation of funds during its final meeting of the fiscal year, June 22.

Board chairman Aaron Albuagh requested to designate $950 to the Susanville Future Farmers of America (FFA); $750 to the Lassen County Junior Fair Advisory Board; $500 to the Blue Star Moms; $500 to the Lassen County Sheriff Search and Rescue; and $500 to the Providence Farm Center.

Supervisor Gary Bridges requested $500 to the Lassen Senior Services; $500 to the Lassen Family Services; and $200 to the Lassen Historical Society.

Supervisor Jeff Hemphill made his requests for $750 to the Milford Community Association; $750 to the Janesville Jolly Elders; $250 to the Lake Milford 4H Club; $250 to the Johnstonville 4H Club; and $250 to the Lassen County Fair for senior passes.

Moreover, supervisor Chris Gallagher requested $500 to the Westwood Chamber of Commerce for the Paul Bunyan Festival; $500 to C&S Waste for a Westwood town cleanup; $2,000 to the Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association for the cost of signup fees.

The supervisors made the initial requests during the June 16, and all were unanimously approved during the June 22 information and consent calendar. Supervisor Tom Hammond was not present at either meeting.
