Supes meet Tuesday morning

The Lassen County Board of Supervisors meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 1- at the Board Chambers, 707 Nevada St.

The board meets in closed session with legal counsel at 9 a.m. to consider significant exposure to litigation (if needed) and to consider initiating litigation in one case.

The public portion of the meeting begins at 9:30 a.m.

Items on agenda include a presentation on the CalTrans Road Change Program; a hearing to consider the recovery of administrative penalties for Aggregate Resources, Inc. (10:15 a.m.); a hearing to consider the recovery of administrative penalties for Roger SIEU PHU (10:20 a.m.); a hearing to consider recovery of administrative penalties for Jesus Pineda (10:25 a.m.); a hearing to consider the recovery of administrative penalties for Blong Yang (10:30 a.m.);  a hearing to consider the recovery of administrative penalties for Julia and Miguel Morales (10:40 a.m.); a hearing to consider the recovery of administrative penalties for Shadow Vang (10:45 a.m.); a hearing to consider the recovery of administrative penalties for Vang Say and Vang Kong Meng TC (10:50 a.m.); a hearing to consider the recovery of administrative penalties for Fino Benjamin T. and Leslie Irene (10:55 a.m.); a hearing to consider the recovery of administrative penalties for  Pereira Hernan (11 a.m.); and a public hearing on the county’s Safety Element (11:05 a.m.).

The board also will consider appoints to the Lassen County Fish and Game Commission; an appointment to the Lassen County Planning Ciommission; the Information and Consent Calendar (a letter of support for Plumas Sierra regarding broadband services; discretionary fund contributions by Supervisor Jason Ingram ($250 to Lassen Grizzly Clay Breakers Boosters; $250 to Long Valley Charter School; $250 to PTO at Shaffer School; and $250 to Herlong High School Boosters Club); a fund cash balance report from the County Treasurer, a recap of prison trials; an agreement between the county and the state Department of Health Care Services regarding Medi-Cal; an agreement between Lassen County Health and Social Services and SmithWaters Group for patients’ rights advocacy services; a lease agreement regarding property at 1616 Chestnut St.; an agreement between Lassen County and the California Department of Public Health regarding suicide prevention; approval of Parcel Map No. 2021-004; confirmation of a grazing lease at Susanville Ranch Park; county treasurer’s investment report; minutes of the Feb. 28 meeting; minutes of the March 28 meeting; and receive and file miscellaneous correspondence items.

Under department reports, the board will waive a second reading and adopt a resolution regarding the bow and arrow restrictions in the Hayden Hill – Silva Flat Game Refuge; consolidation of the Lassen County Auditor and Lassen County Treasurer/Tax Collector positions; a resolution to be submitted to the voters regarding the consolidation of the Lassen County Auditor and Lassen County Treasurer/Tax Collector positions; and a proclamation regarding California Friday Night Live Month (April); a proposal regarding the cost of meals for inmates at the Lassen County Jail; a mid-year budget review; and a report from the county administrative officer.

The board’s next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 18.
