Supes meet Tuesday morning

The Lassen County Board of Supervisors meets at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 21 at the Board Chambers, 707 Nevada St. in Susanville.

A closed session at 9 a.m. Items discussed in closed session include a conference with labor negotiator Richard Eagan with the Lassen County Peace Officers Association, United Public Employees of California, Lassen County Road Workers Association, Management and Professional Association, Lassen County Peace Officers Association Supervisors Unit, Lassen County Deputy Sheriffs Association, Lassen County Management Association and Department Heads and Confidential Employees. A liability claim filed by Fabio Russo also will be discussed.

Open session begins at 9:30 a.m. Items on the agenda include Public Comment, Unagendized Reports by Board Members, Matters Set for Time Certain (10 a.m. Recognition Awards (Julie Bustamante, 35 years, and Richard Egan, 20 Years); the Information/Consent Calendar (Discretionary Funds Supervisor Gary Bridges — $200 to Law Enforcement Torch Run, Special Olympics Norther California; a resolution naming the Lassen County Arts Council as the county’s designated partner with the California Arts Council; Planning and Building Services — Local Enforcement Agency Grant; Public Works Department — Johnstonville Road Bridge Rail Project; Miscellaneous Correspondence Items); Department Reports — Board of Supervisors, Ordinance repealing and amending the county code regulating activities at the Spalding Boat Ramp; Public Works Department — Grant agreements with the Regents of the University of California for two grants to fund spay and neuter programs between the Lassen Humane Society and the animal shelter; Sheriff’s Department — Correctional Release Coordinator (new position); and County Administrative Office — Homekey Program.

The board’s next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 28.
