In the early morning hours of Friday, April 17, officers from the Susanville Police Department made an enforcement stop on a vehicle on Main Street for various vehicle code violations.
Investigation revealed the driver, Matthew Svendsen, 33, had a suspended license. SPD’s K-9 Zeke also participated in the enforcement stop.
Zeke performed an exterior sniff of the vehicle and showed action that indicates an alert. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of drug packaging materials, a scale, several hypodermic needles and almost an ounce of methamphetamine.
Officers arrested Svendsen and booked him into the Lassen County Jail on drug charges and driving on a suspended license.
