Susanville Rotary Club recognizes Paul Harris Fellows
The Rotary Club of Susanville honored its 2018 Paul Harris recipients at a dinner held at the Johnstonville Grange Hall Wednesday, March 7.
The club honored Paul Harris Fellows Angela Crowley, Lewis Oring, the late Wayne Henderson and Fred Autenrieb,
Paul Harris, an attorney from Chicago, Illinois, founded the Rotary Club in 1905 so professionals from diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas, form meaningful, lifelong friendships and give back to their communities. Today, the Rotary Club International has more than 35,000 clubs and 1.2 million members who put in more than 16 million volunteer hours annually.
Thanks to Rotary’s efforts to eradicate polio worldwide, 2.5 billion children have been vaccinated against the crippling disease. Since the Rotary program against polio began in 1995, there has been a 99.9 percent reduction in the number of cases. The work continues.
