Susanville Salvation Army has food available

To provide a ray of sunshine and hope in our community, the Susanville Salvation Army is happy to report that our food pantry has weathered the holidays and is ready to help anyone who needs assistance with their food supply.

Daily food is open to anyone who comes to the office from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. For anyone with an urgent need, they also have emergency food boxes available upon request.

The big food distribution days are the second and fourth Friday of each month.  On these days, clients are asked to either call 257-0314 or come by the office at 1560 Main Street – in the Grocery Outlet center behind the Chevron station — between 8 a.m. and noon to receive a number. This number will then indicate what time in the afternoon to return and “shop” for the food. On these two days, there is a lot of food delivered and the shipment typically includes frozen meat, dairy and produce.
