Susanville Salvation Army hosts Drive-Through Kettle Dinner Nov. 7

This year’s Susanville Salvation Army Kettle Dinner may look a little different, but the organization is still dedicated to serving local residents and needs.

The Drive-Through Kettle Dinner is set for 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Lassen Senior Center, located at 1700 Sunkist Drive, and the ticket includes a lasagna dinner, with dessert provided by Merry Morsels.

Individual tickets are $15, and a family of five is $60. Ticket sales close Nov. 3.

Attendees can also bid on items through an online auction from Oct. 29 through Nov. 7.

According to coordinator Carla McDonald, the dinner is the local Salvation Army’s main fundraiser and the organization is hoping to sell 300 to 400 dinners this year.

She said all the funds raised from the dinner help the local community through emergency assistance, summer camps, back to school clothes, backpacks and supplies and Christmas food and gifts. Additionally, according to the Salvation Army, funds raised help deliver food to home-bound residents through a partnership with Lassen Rural Bus.

For tickets to the Drive-Through Kettle Dinner call the local office at 257-0314, find them at the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce, or buy them here online.
