Susanville Salvation Army takes applications for Angel Tree and Food Box programs

Last year’s Angel Giving Tree at Walmart displays the Christmas wishes of local children. Donors take the tag, purchase the gifts and return them to the Salvation Army for distribution. The Salvation Army also accepts cash donations.

If you’re interested in taking advantage of the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree or Food Box programs this holiday season, the application deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 30. But don’t delay —only limited spots are available, so apply early.

Angel Giving Tree

The Angel Giving Tree is for local youth aged birth to 17 (18 if still in high school). A tag representing the child and their Christmas wishes will be put on one of The Salvation Army’s Angel Giving Trees. Local donors take the tag and purchase the gifts and return them to the Salvation Army for distribution.

Christmas Food Box

The Christmas Food Box contains all of the fixings for a Christmas Dinner including a whole turkey.

To apply call 257-0314 or stop by the Salvation Army office at 1560 Main Street between 9 a.m.  and noon Monday through Friday.

If you would like to participate in the program as a donor call the office and let them know.
