Susanville School District students will have a different kind of graduation ceremony this year.
“We are planning a completely virtual graduation at Diamond View,” said Jason Waddell, SSD superintendent. “Parents and families can enjoy it from the comfort of their homes, and we won’t be risking anyone’s health.”
Tentative plans call for the video production to be available at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 4. Exact details will be released at a later date.
Waddell said Dede Heimbigner, Diamond View’s principal, and her staff have put together an incredible plan for how this will all work.
“Kids will come to the school the week before the actual graduation. They will get their picture taken and receive a bag of cool goodies. They will actually keep the gown this year. We will still have speeches and awards as always.”
