Susanville taxpayers’ money

With the upcoming need for money to continue and operate the city/county pool for the local youth and citizens, why is the city spending money to hire a recruitment management firm for a large fee to locate an economic development director for $106,000 plus a year salary, when the chamber of commerce could do the same, along with members of the city council?

Put that money towards maintaining the operation of Honey Lake Valley Pool instead. That would seem, to me, to be a much better use of taxpayers’ money. Just a thought.
