Officers from the Susanville Police Department were keeping a close eye on the community during the recent power outage and caught a pair of alleged burglars at Lassen High School.
According to a statement from the SPD, officers “were on patrol proactively checking businesses due to the power outage,” about 12:30 p.m. Friday July 24 when an officer observed a woman on the LHS campus near a storage container. The officer also observed various items of clothing containing the words Lassen on it.
The woman, later identified as Aymee Yvonne Jones, 32, of Susanville, originally provided a false name to officers. A second suspect, Dakota Rubel, 29, of Susanville, was found in the area.
Rubel was placed under arrest for burglary and is currently being held on $20,000 bail at the Lassen County Jail.
Jones was arrested for burglary and providing false identification to a police officer. She is being held on $22,500 bail.
