Symphony announces May 8 Swing Band concert

Music lovers rejoice! After a couple of cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Susanville Symphony Society announces its first concert in more than a year.

“We are going to have a Swing Band concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 8 at the Elks Lodge,” said artistic director and conductor Ben Wade. “Tickets are on sale at Axia Home Loans and Margie’s Book Nook.”

According to a statement from the society, “The symphony holds its much awaited return! Our last live concert was February 2020 (aside from a few zoom concerts). Patrons and musicians are excited to get back in action.

“Only 100 tickets will be sold beforehand. No tickets will be sold at the door.

“Get your tickets as soon as possible. The symphony is as always concerned about the patrons’ and musicians’ health. Appropriate spacing will be instituted along with the cap on the number of tickets sold.

“A dinner of Greg Sellas’ famous tri-tip with all the fixings will be available at 6 p.m. for an additional cost.

“It’s time to spring back into action this spring with the Susanville Swing Band’s premier concert of 2021.”
