Theatre plans to re-open around June 19

Netflix is fine for some folks, but for others there’s no substitute for the big, silver screen.

Carolyn Smith, one of the owners of Sierra Theatre and Uptown Cinemas, reports the theatres hope to reopen later this month.

Smith said she’s working with the bookers who secure the movies for the theatres trying to figure out which movies can be shown on Susanville’s screens. She said they plan to open Uptown Cinemas first and Sierra Theatre a little later.

They’ll report more information as it becomes available.
