Those sheltering in place west of Highway 395 from Janesville Grade south to Milford ‘need to evacuate now’

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert around 2:40 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 informing those sheltering in place in the Janesville Grade to Milford areas to evacuate now.

“If you are sheltering in place in the area west of Highway 395 from Janesville Grade south to Milford, you need to evacuate now. If you need assistance, call 530-257-6121. An emergency shelter is located at Lassen Community College. Deputies are going door to door to make notification,” read the alert.

The area was already under a mandatory evacuation order.
