Tonight’s evening summer market canceled

Tonight’s evening summer market is canceled, organizers announced.

The decision to cancel the Wednesday, Aug. 11 market is due to the Dixie Fire.

“The decision was reached because of the amount of fire victims in need in our community, the fact that our event would stretch law enforcement too thin, and the current evacuation situation in Susanville and Janesville. Keeping Highway 36 free and clear for first responders is very important. We look forward to our almost Fall Evening Market on Sept. 15 in partnership with Historic Uptown Susanville Association,” read a post from the Local Area Revitalization Project Co-Op.
