Toys for Tots accepts applications

The Lassen County Toys for Tots program is now accepting applications for assistance for Christmas 2019.

Those requesting assistance for their children must submit a release of information form no later than Dec. 6 to Lassen County Toys for Tots, P.O. Box 171, Susanville, CA. Call 260-1222 for more information.

Space is limited to 250 children this year, so participants are encouraged to file their release of information form as soon as possible. Be sure to write a simple wish list on the reverse side of the form for each child, and include clothing sizes so Toys for Tots can customize the gift bags for each of the children. Copies of the form are available on the Lassen County Toys for Tots Facebook page.

Gift bags will be distributed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 under the grandstand at the Lassen County Fairgrounds.

Residents in Doyle/Herlong, Westwood, Ravendale North and Big Valley can pick up their gift bags after noon Monday, Dec. 16.

Toys for Tots will contact applicants to let them know if their application was accepted.

Because Lassen County Toys for Tots is a local nonprofit, not associated with any national group, all the donations stay right here in Lassen County, all the holiday items are purchased in Lassen County stores and all the toys go to local children.

For more information, call 260-1222 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
