A Janesville man and a Susanville woman were taken into custody after 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 traffic stop at Highway 36 and County Road A21 in Westwood.
According to a statement from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy made traffic stop on a silver Kia Sedona. Upon contacting the driver and two passengers, the deputy learned the driver, Thomas Grimm, 31, of Janesville, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Grimm was also in possession of a switchblade knife.
After placing Grimm under arrest, the deputy conducted a search of the vehicle and located a large amount of suspected methamphetamine and a large amount of cash.
In all, the deputy seized approximately 283.3 grams (9.9 ounces) of suspected methamphetamine and $2,075 in cash. The street value of the suspected methamphetamine is estimated to be more than $8,000.
After further investigation, the deputy also arrested passenger, Tommie Beard, 35, of Susanville. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale and transportation of a controlled substance. Her bail was set at $27,500.
Grimm was arrested for the outstanding warrant and possession of a switchblade knife. His bail was set at $17,500.
