Traffic stop leads to two arrests
A Westwood man and a Susanville woman are in custody after a Feb. 1 traffic stop in the city of Susanville.
According to a statement from the LCSO, about 11 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, deputies from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop within the city limits of Susanville. The driver was identified as Brian Wayne Pitts, 31, of Westwood. Daisy Marie Mayfield, 39, of Susanville was identified as the passenger in the vehicle.
Pitts was on active Post Release Community Supervision with search terms. During the course of the stop, deputies conducted a search of Pitts’ person and located suspected methamphetamine. During a search of the vehicle, Deputies located a loaded firearm inside the glove box. Pitts was placed under arrest and transported to the Lassen County Jail.
Deputies confirmed an active felony arrest warrant for Mayfield. Mayfield was placed under arrest for the warrant and transported to the Lassen County Jail. Upon arrival at the jail, correctional deputies located suspected methamphetamine concealed on Mayfield’s person.
Pitts was booked into the Lassen County Jail for the following charges: 29800(a)(1) PC — Felon/addict in possession of a firearm; 30305(a)(1) PC — Prohibited person in possession of ammunition; 11370.1 H&S — Possession of a controlled substance while armed; and 3455 PC — Revocation of Post Release Community Supervision.
Mayfield was booked into the Lassen County Jail for the following charges: 29800(a)(1) PC — Felon/addict in possession of a firearm; 30305(a)(1) PC — Prohibited person in possession of ammunition; 11370.1 H&S — Possession of a controlled substance while armed; 4573(a) PC — Smuggle controlled substance into jail and felony arrest warrant, no bail.
