Travel safely this weekend, prevent wildfires

There are some steps to take this holiday weekend to lessen the risk of wildfires.

“As you head out this weekend we’re asking you to take a few preventative measures to help prevent an unwanted human-caused roadside wildfire. These are some precautions you can take as you head out for this holiday weekend,” shared Plumas National Forest.

Some travel safety tips to limit fire risk:

• Check for properly inflated tires
• Make sure your chains on your boat trailer or RV are not dragging
• Be aware of where you are parking, do not park on dry grass
• Keep all smoking materials in your vehicle
