According to a posting from the Doyle Fire Protection District, a truck pulling a fifth wheel got in trouble twice Thursday, Nov. 4 on Highway 395.
According to the post, about 10:40 a.m. the truck and fifth wheel blew over in the high winds near A 26.
But then, about 1:15 p.m., the same truck and fifth wheel caught on fire. The fire spread to vegetation and burned about a quarter acre.
According to the post, “With the way the wind was blowing, we got luck that it didn’t spread further into vegetation.”
The Doyle Fire Protection District offered thanks to the Sierra Army Depot Fire Department, the Milford Fire Department, CalFire and the Bureau of Land Management for their assistance in putting the fire out. They also thanked Caltrans and the California Highway Patrol for providing traffic control.
