Trucker spills alfalfa, fuel on Highway 36

A Chester man lost control of his 2014 Peterbilt 386 on Highway 36 east of the Tehama County line Thursday, Sept. 17, dumping a load of alfalfa and some diesel fuel.

According to a statement from the California Highway Patrol, Dale E. Wolf, 43, was driving a Peterbilt pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with alfalfa. According to the CHP, the load sifted as Wolf executed a corner at an excessive speed, causing the training to overturn.

The Peterbilt came to rest on its right side and the trailer came to rest on its wheels. Less than 50 gallons of diesel fuel spilled, and Wolf was not injured in the collision.
