Trust submits proposal for California OHV grant; seeks public comment

Lassen Land and Trails Trust is applying for grant funds through California State Park’s Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division for the Modoc Line Rail Trail and invites the public to review and comment on this application.

The Modoc Line grant will implement trail maintenance projects on three priority segments of the Modoc Line Rail Trail including grading the trail surface, improving signage and safety repairs. The Trust acquired the abandoned rail corridor for development and management as a shared-use, motorized public trail in 2008, and the Modoc Line Rail Trail Management Plan was adopted after public comments in January 2012.

The Trust’s applications can be reviewed beginning on Tuesday, March 8, at the Division’s website, http:/ohv.parks.ca.gov. Public comments are requested by May 3. For more information, contact Lassen Land and Trails Trust at [email protected] or call 257-3252.
