Tuesday, Feb, 14, 2014 • Shooting leaves one man dead, another in critical condition

Investigation continues into a shooting that left one Susanville man dead and another in a Reno hospital.

The Lassen County Sheriff’s Office has identified the  deceased as Cedric Trejo, 38.

Trejo, who appeared to be a victim of a gunshot wound, was found dead in an alley near a Martha Street residence in the early morning hours of Monday, Feb. 10.

According to Susanville Police Chief Tom Downing, officers are following up on leads, contacting witnesses, analyzing collected evidence and searching for one or more suspects.

Nathan Duane Wilson, 33, identified as the other shooting victim, was initially sent to Banner Lassen Medical Center and was then transferred to Renown Medical center with multiple gunshot wounds in the upper torso.

According to Downing, Wilson’s condition is improving.

Downing also confirmed Wilson was a victim of a 2010 shooting after an alleged verbal altercation at a Susanville fast food restaurant. He was shot twice in the leg.

According to a press release from the police department, at approximately 1 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, officers responded to the 200 block of Martha Street after Wilson called requesting assistance.

Officers  found Wilson in an unattached garage and he was suffering multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso.

Trejo was found in the alley south of the residence. He was unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
