Tuesday vegetation fire quickly contained

A vegetation fire was quickly contained Tuesday and the cause remains under investigation, according to the Cal Fire Lassen-Modoc Unit.

Late afternoon Tuesday, June 8, Cal Fire crews responded to a fire off Highway 139 near Hagata Road.

With the help of USFS, BLM, Janesville Fire District and Susan River Fire District, the fire was quickly contained at 1.7 acres. Crews remained on scene through the night and today mopping up the fire.
