Local schools will start enforcing face coverings for all local students, grades TK through 12th, beginning tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 21, a recent statement from the Superintendent of Schools read.
“The California Department of Public Health released the consolidated update of guidance for schools on Thursday, Jan. 14. The new guidance requires that all students, TK-12 and staff wear facial coverings, both inside and out, while at school. This includes buses or other transportation provided to students,” read the statement from Patty Gunderson, Lassen County Superintendent of Schools.
“The requirements for exemptions of wearing facial coverings has not changed. The schools in Lassen County will begin enforcing the facial covering requirement for all students and staff on Thursday, Jan. 21.”
Previously, guidance stated that facial coverings for grades TK – 2 were strongly encouraged but not mandatory.
