A day of volunteers at the local Susanville Community Garden brings out both the young and young at heart to paint the garden house, lay down garlic beds and make their community a better place. Volunteers tend to Community Garden

Gardener Sandra Horst takes a turn to stir up the garden beds for another year of planting. Spring bulbs and garlic, provided by Every Bloomin’ Thing, are planted for another successful growing season.

Happy smiles such as these are only achieved by a day of hard work in the dirt. The free coffee, a donation by Joe’s Café, also provides the smile.
