A wanted Salinas man was booked into the Lassen County Jail Saturday after he was he was spotted in town.
At about 10:20 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, officers Xiong and Singletary from the Susanville Police Department received notification that a wanted subject, Jose Tinajero, 36, of Salinas, had been seen in the area of 555 North Roop Street, according to a statement from the department.
“With the assistance of community members, officers responded to the area and quickly located Tinajero. Officers began giving Tinajero verbal directions and he fled on foot from officers. Officers, with the assistance of the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, surrounded Tinajero apprehending him without incident. Tinajero has been outstanding and wanted for a period of time. Tinajero has been wanted for a period of time and we are pleased he is back in custody,” read the statement.
Tinajero was booked into the Lassen County Jail for a no bail warrant and for violation of California Penal Code section 290.018(b).
The Susanville Police Department thanked the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office and all of the community members that assisted in the apprehension of Jose Tinajero.
