We Are Lassen Golf Tournament set for May 1

Get your golf clubs ready for the first annual We Are Lassen Golf Tournament.

The event, set to have a shotgun start at 9 a.m. May 1, benefits the Lassen High School We Are Lassen program. There is a registration fee per person, or per foursome, and lunch will be available to tournament players.

Those interested is registering should visit events.golfstatus.com, and search for “We Are Lassen Golf Tournament,” or you can call the LHS front office at (530) 257-2142. The deadline to register is April 20.

Moreover, the event is seeking sponsors for the golf tournament. All sponsors will receive recognition in pre-event promotions, through local publications and signage at the event. Proceeds benefit the We Are Lassen Scholarship, student t-shirts, bracelets and the We Are Lassen Dinner. In fall 2018, the school rolled out the We Are Lassen program. With the name “We R Lassen,” each letter stands for a characteristic — welcoming, excellence, respectful, loyal, authentic, strong, successful, engaged and noble. Students are recognized by any staff member for representing the monthly “We Are Lassen” characteristic or for another achievement, and students can give teachers Impact awards.

The first We Are Lassen Graduate title was awarded in 2019.
