A small group of law enforcement officers, first responders and residents gathered in front of the Susanville Fire Station on Main Street just before 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11 to remember those who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks that infamous day in 2001. More names were recently added to the list of those first responders who died — those who survived the day of the attacks but subsequently died from their injuries.
Those gathered for the solemn celebration remembered those who lost their lives trying to save the lives of others. In Susanville, we will never forget their sacrifice.
