The woodshop program at Westwood High received a donation of several pieces of equipment that will enhance the teaching opportunities at the school. The equipment was a 12-inch wood lathe, a table saw, a radial arm saw and a band saw. The pieces, donated by Lin Chilson, are new or gently used.
Ag mechanics, taught by Cassie Anderson at Westwood High School, and the woodshop class, taught by Chad Wallace as part of the Adult Education curriculum, will benefit from the donation.
The adult class is free to community members and is offered this fall on Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The class starts Oct. 23.
When the equipment arrived students Scott Kirby and Noah Schriver helped unload it along with Gary Sullivan, the school district maintenance manager.
