Winter storm warning

Lassen County residents should be aware of a winter storm with lots of wind and snow expected to arrive about 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb 28 and continue through 10 p.m. Saturday, March 3.

According to the National Weather Service, travel is highly discouraged.

The storm could bring three to five feet of snow about 3,500 feet and as much as seven feet in some areas. Wind gusts are expected to be between 30- and 50-miles-per hour, with some as high as 65-miles-per-hour on the higher peaks.

Possible impacts include impassable roads, significant travel delays, chain controls and possible road closures and gusty winds will cause blowing snow and reduced visibility.

  • 3-5 feet at 3500′? Susanville is 4180′. Poorly written and misinformation. I doubt Susanville will see 3′-5′ of snow.
