Work continues on Townhill Brake Check project

CalTrans continues work on the Townhill Brake Check project, which is expanding the existing truck brake check parking area located 2 miles west of Susanville on Highway  36 in Lassen County. The project also includes new safety lighting, new striping and pavement repairs.

The $1.5 million project includes 45 working days, and is expected to be completed in the spring/summer of 2023.

Motorists can expect one way traffic control near the project, with a maximum delay of 10 minutes as work continues. One way traffic control is anticipated to be in effect through Wednesday, April 19. The brake check area is closed.
