You can still support the Salvation Army through online auction

The Salvation Army of Susanville takes a new approach to the holiday season due to the current pandemic. Tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 7, the nonprofit will bring back its popular Christmas lasagna dinner, but with a socially distant twist. The annual dinner will be drive-through style at Lassen Senior Services in Susanville. Dessert will be provided by Merry Morsels.

The deadline to purchase tickets has passed, but people can still support The Salvation Army through its online auction. The auction features a 40-inch TV, a date night package, an auto service package and much more. All the funds raised go to support Salvation Army programs in Lassen County throughout the year.

Why support the Salvation Army?

This holiday season, The Salvation Army expects to see a greater need for its services — more than any in recent history. COVID-19 has not only created a bigger need for the nonprofit to fill but has forced it to find alternative ways to raise funds and connect with the community. The online auction and drive-through dinner are just two ways

The Salvation Army in Susanville is adapting to this new normal. The nonprofit has also launched a Virtual Red Kettle to make up for fewer in-person red kettles in front of stores and on street corners due to the pandemic. Donors can support The Salvation Army’s efforts in Lassen County by going to Lassen.VirtualRedKettle.org.
