A coalition of local, state and national groups is calling all volunteers to join in to plant willow trees from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at Susanville Ranch Park, located at 585-593 Cherry Terrace in Susanville.
Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to come out and spend a morning planting willow trees to help restore the Paiute Meadows watershed, benefiting the surrounding community and helping protect the county against wildfire. Following the event, volunteers will enjoy free tacos, refreshments and keepsakes.
This climate action event is being hosted by a team that includes the Honey Lake Valley Resource Conservation District, Trout Unlimited, Susanville Indian Rancheria, Keep California Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful, in partnership with California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers, Office of the Governor.
Volunteers are encouraged to register in advance through the Golden Volunteers platform at bit.ly/lassenplantswillows.
