Planning and Service Area 2 Area Agency on Aging hosts March 26 public hearing on its 2025-2026 Area Plan Update

If you’re interested in the services provided to residents in Lassen County through the Planning and Service Area 2 Area Agency on Aging, you won’t want to miss PSA2 AAA’s March 26 public hearing on its 2025-2026 Area Plan Update.

The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, at 1647 Hartnell Avenue, Suite 9, in Redding and via Zoom.

The PSA 2 AAA Area Plan Update identifies the nature and scope of a continuum of services for older and disabled adults under the Older Americans Act.

The Area Plan Update proposes the following contracted programs and services

• Congregate meals;
• Home delivered meals;
• Transportation;
• Information and assistance;
• Legal services;
• Family caregiver support programs; and
• Evidence-based health promotion.

In addition, the Area Plan Update proposes a continuation of the following direct programs and services offered by PSA 2 AAA

• Long-term care ombudsman;
  • Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP);
• Information and assistance;
• Community education;
• Coordinationl;
• Program development;
• Family caregiver support programs;
• Elder abuse prevention education; and
• Disaster preparedness.
