Susanville Planning Commission considers nuisance abatement order

The Susanville Planning Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at the Council Chambers, 66 N. Lassen St.

There are only two items on the agenda — the minutes of the Feb. 11, 2025 meeting and approval of Resolution No. 25-1192, a nuisance abatement order for property at 110 and 110 ½ Hall St.

According to the staff report, “Structures located at 110 and 110 ½ Hall St. have been declared substandard and in violation of California Health and Safety Code 17920.3 since 2012. On March 6, 2025, a Notification of Nuisance was sent to the property owner requesting compliance by April 6, 2025. The nuisance remained and a subsequent Notice of Intent to Abate / Notice of Public Hearing was mailed to the owner of record and posted on the premises on April 7, 2025. The Notice of Public Hearing was also posted in the Intermountain News on April 23, 2025. To date, the nuisance remains, there have been no attempts made from the owner of record to contact the department, and no observable efforts have been made to abate the nuisance.”
