Lassen County Office of Education invites community to ‘Paint the Town Red’ for Red Ribbon Week 2025
The Lassen County Office of Education is excited to announce this year’s Red Ribbon Week celebration, themed “Life is a Puzzle, Solve it Drug Free!” running the week of Oct. 23–31.
Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s largest and longest-running drug-use prevention campaign, promoting safe, healthy, and drug-free lifestyles for youth. LCOE is encouraging Lassen County businesses, organizations, and community members to come together and show visible support for local students through fun and creative displays of red throughout the week with our campaign Paint the Town Red.
“Red Ribbon Week gives our community a powerful opportunity to come together and send a unified message: every student’s future matters, and living drug free is the key to lifelong success,” said James Hall, LCOE’s Director of Student, Family, and Community Engagement.
How businesses can get involved
Community participation is vital to the success of Red Ribbon Week. LCOE invites local
businesses and organizations to join the effort in the following ways
• Decorate your space: Display red ribbons in storefronts, offices, or windows.
• Dress in red: On Oct. 30, wear red and share photos on social media using #PaintLassenCoRed and don’t forget to tag us.
• Show it daily: Encourage employees to wear red ribbons throughout the week as a visible reminder of support.
• Share the message: Promote Red Ribbon Week on your business’s social media platforms.
• Offer red-themed specials: Highlight menu items, discounts, or promotions with a red theme.
• Sponsor a school door/display: Partner with local schools by helping supply decorations for contests and student-led events.
• Light it up red: Use outdoor red lighting at your business or office to show solidarity.
Red Ribbon Week is more than a tradition, it’s a commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for students across Lassen County.
