Lassen County Clerk announces extension (until March 11) of candidate filing period for some county races
The deadline to file a Declaration of Candidacy has been extended to 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 for the following races: Lassen County Supervisor District 3. Lassen County Assessor, Auditor, Lassen County Clerk-Recorder and Lassen County Treasurer Tax Collector, because the incumbents did not file by the deadline, according to a statement by the Lassen County Clerk.
Any person, other than the incumbent, wishing to file can do so at the County Clerk’s office in the Annex behind the Historic Courthouse at 220 S. Lassen St, Susanville. More information is available at the clerk’s office by calling (530) 251-8217

County Supervisor, 3rd District
GC § 24001, 25041, and EC § 201
U.S. Citizen and a registered voter of Lassen County and lived within the district for at least 30 days prior to the filing deadline. Reside in the district during incumbency

Hold a valid Appraiser’s Certificate issued by the California State Board of Equalization.
A duly elected or appointed person may exercise the powers and duties of assessor, for a period not to exceed one year, if he or she acquires a temporary appraiser’s certificate from the State Board of Equalization no later than 30 days after taking office.

Served as a County Auditor, Chief Deputy County Auditor, or Assistant County Auditor, or an equivalent position for a continuous period of not less than 3 years.

U.S. Citizen and a registered voter of Lassen County. Meet at least one of the following criteria:
Served in a senior financial management position for a continuous period of no. less than three years.
Possess a valid bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree from an accredited college in any of the following major fields of study: business administration, public administration, economics, finance, accounting, or a related field, with a minimum of 16 college semester units, or their equivalent, in accounting, auditing or finance. Possess a valid Certified Public Accountant certificate issued by the California. Board of Accountancy. Possess a valid Chartered Financial Analyst Charter issued by the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts with a minimum of 16 college semester units, or their equivalent, in accounting, auditing, or finance. Possess a valid Certified Cash Manager certificate issued by the Treasury Management Association with a minimum of 16 college semester units, or their equivalent in accounting, auditing, or finance.
