City Council moving forward with truck stop plans

It’s very far from a done deal, but the Susanville City Council takes a couple of big steps toward the completion of the truck stop project on the east end of town on Highway 36 at tomorrow’s city council meeting, held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 at the City Council Chambers, 66 N. Lassen St.

The council will consider Resolution No. 26-6533 initiating the annexation of the property into the city limits and authorizing the city manager to submit an annexation application to the Local Agency Formation Commission and will consider Resolution No. 26-6534 amending the general plan and changing the property’s designation to General Commercial/Shopping Center.

But that’s not all. The council will consider PC Resolution No. 26-1200 certifying the Final Environmental Impact Report, PC Resolution No. 26-1201 recommending an amendment to the General Plan Map and PC Resolution No 26-1202 approving the site plan reviews, permits and findings of fact.

Other items on the agenda include the consent calendar (minutes of the council’s April 1 regular meeting, vendor and payroll warrants and Resolution No. 26-6533 authorizing at 2.68 percent salary increase for the Administrative Bargaining Unit Salary Matrix effective July 1, 2026); consideration of Resolution No. 26-6525 upholding administrative citations issued against 602 Main St.; consideration of Resolution No. 25-6527 approving a lien against 1101 Arnold St. and Resolution No, 26-6528 confirming expenses incurred at 17 Orange St.

New business
New business includes Resolution No. 26-6529 approving agreements releasing the Tuscorora natural gas pipeline to IGI Resources until April 30, 2029; consideration of Resolution No. 26-6531 increasing the Golf Course budget by $5,000 to replace a pressure release valve; and consideration of Resolution No. 26=6532 awarding a bid to All Season Heating and Air for the HVAC renovation at the Susanville Fire Station.

The council also will hear a report from the fire department.

The council’s next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6.
