Our Revolution endorses Tom Steyer for governor

Today, Our Revolution, the nation’s largest grassroots independent political organization, proudly announced its endorsement of Tom Steyer for Governor of California.

“Tom Steyer understands that California’s affordability crisis is not inevitable — it’s the result of a political system shaped by concentrated wealth and corporate power at the expense of working people,” said Joseph Geevarghese, Executive Director of Our Revolution. “At a moment when too many in positions of privilege defend the status quo, Tom has taken a different path — using his platform to challenge the very system that benefits people like him. He has been clear about the root causes of what’s broken in our politics and is leaning into universal solutions like single-payer healthcare, taxing extreme wealth, and ending the outsized influence of corporations in our democracy. That’s the kind of leadership this moment demands.”

A longtime advocate for climate action, Steyer has made confronting the climate crisis a cornerstone of his campaign, calling for aggressive investment in clean energy, environmental justice for frontline communities, and accountability for polluters. His campaign is also centered on addressing the cost-of-living crisis facing millions of Californians, with a platform that directly confronts the concentration of wealth and power driving inequality.

His support for a single-payer healthcare system would position California to lead the nation in guaranteeing healthcare for all, while his commitment to taxing the wealthy and closing corporate loopholes reflects a broader effort to build an economy that works for everyone.
