The CalFire Lassen Modoc Unit Chief has temporarily suspended all burn permits beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, May 30.
This suspension will remain in effect until Monday, June 2. No burning will be allowed within that time frame. Make sure all previously burned debris piles are cold to the touch. This suspension is the result of the forecasted Red Flag conditions that will persist throughout the region.
As a reminder prior to burning, always call (530) 251-4403 to determine the burn day status. The suspension of burn permits for residential landscape debris does not apply to campfires within organized campgrounds or on private property. Campfires may be permitted if the campfire is maintained in such a manner as to prevent its spread to the wildland. A valid campfire permit is required and can be obtained online at ReadyForWildfire.org.
