CDCR honors fallen parole agent

According to a Facebook post, the California Medical Facility in Vacaville held a memorial ceremony yesterday to honor fallen Parole Agent Joshua Byrd, marking one year since his passing.

During the ceremony, his former coworkers dedicated a bench in his memory. Before becoming an agent, he was a correctional officer and honor guard volunteer at CMF.

Byrd was killed in the line of duty on July 17, 2025.
