Safe and Sane Halloween
The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce presents Safe and Sane Halloween in Historic Uptown Susanville from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday Oct. 31 in Historic Uptown Susanville.

Good news for young and old Halloween revelers — Susanville’s Safe and Sane Halloween, presented by the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce returns Uptown. The event features a Pet Costume Contest and the ever-popular Children’s Costume Contest at 4 p.m. at Pancera Plaza. JandJ Performing Arts and Joan’s House of Dance also offers dance performances. The Lassen High drumline will perform for the first time at Safe and Sane.

The Lassen Land and Trails Trust Rails to Trail Festival at The Depot, 601 Richmond Road, Susanville
We hope you will join us at the historic Susanville Railroad Depot for the Rails to Trails Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12. With Handcar Races, lots of vendors, local beer and kids’ activities, you won’t want to miss it. Back this year, this event will take place on the same weekend as the Bizz Johnson Marathon events, bringing visitors and locals alike to enjoy the wonderful Bizz Johnson Trail and the Rails to Trails Festival.

Janesville Pop Up Farmer’s Market

Lassen Family Services Dancing for a Brand New Me
Lassen Family Services presents Dancing for a Brand New Me at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at Veteran’s Hall 1205 Main Street Susanville.

At the heart of our event is the belief that awareness can transform lives. Dancing For A Brand New Me 2024 is more than just a performance; it’s a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Expect a thrilling line-up of local novice and professional dancers who will enthrall you with their talent, passion and inspiring stories. This concert is designed to uplift spirits, inspire hearts and help raise funds to spread awareness and assist survivors of Domestic Violence. Join us. Don’t miss this magical evening of dance and music at Dancing For A Brand New Me 2024. We can’t wait to share this unforgettable experience with you.

Lassen Family Services You’ve Been Ghosted
Lassen Family Services You’ve Been Ghosted  began Oct. 1.

If you see some haunted front lawns around town in October, don’t be frighted. All this month, Lassen Family Services will be placing little ghosts into Susanville yards as part of their “Ghosted” fundraiser. Money raised by the fun; community event allows LFS to continue providing services to survivors of violence in our community.

Here’s how it works – if ghosts are placed in your yard, you will receive a form taped to your door explaining how you can ‘ghost’ another lawn. You can place your ghosting order beginning today and little ghosts will start appearing around town Oct. 1. The flyer from LFS points out that ghosting is “done in good spirits and is not meant to be offensive in any way … These ghosts will rest in peace on a lawn for twenty-four hours until the mysteriously cross over to another person’s lawn.”

If you wake up to find that you have been ghosted, and you would like to pick where the ghosts will haunt next, LFS asks for a small donation of $20.
