According to a Facebook post by the California Highway Patrol, “Multiple drivers were cited this weekend for going 80 miles-per-hour in a 55 MPH zone. ​Speeding dramatically cuts your reaction time and tailgating while speeding leaves you absolutely zero margin for error if the car ahead brakes.

​“Did you know changing your speed from 55 to 80 MPH nearly doubles your total stopping distance?
