Mayor Mendy Schuster, who spearheaded the project, cut the ribbon — joined by Susanville City Councilmembers, city administration and staff, representatives from the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce as well as members of the local pickleball club.

“It always feels good to see a project I fight for come to fruition,” Schuster told Lassen News. “I want to thank my fellow councilmembers because, although I pushed the project forward, they all voted in favor of it. I also want to thank city staff for all the work they did to see that this resurfacing project got completed. I am grateful to the pickleball players who came to council with this great idea and were patient during the time it took to get it finished. I also want to thank them for helping in every way they could. It feels good to see the old tennis courts being used again.”
